McCormick v. Faskens (Age Discrimination Complaint against National Law Firm)

Today, the BC Supreme Court handed down a landmark decision in the claim by Mitch McCormick against Fasken Martineau, upholding the decision of the BC Human Rights Tribunal on the fundamentally important questions of jurisdiction.

The Reason for Judgement are available on the TevlinGleadle website.

The Honourable Madam Justice Bruce's reasons contain a sweeping, purposive analysis of the threshold issue of whether Mr. McCormick, an equity partner in a large international law firm, was entitled to the protections afforded against age discrimination under the BC Human Rights Code.
